Methodology:
Over a 6 week period, 30 subjects applied a 25% Urea cream to the right foot, and a 10% Urea cream to the left foot. Hydration levels determined by measuring the skin’s electrical resistance.
Results:
A greater level of skin hydration was achieved following the continual application of the 25% Urea cream (Flexitol Heel Balm) when compared to the continual application of the 10% Urea cream.
Note: This study was conducted on patients attending the Diabetes Centre and Department of Podiatry, Southern General Hospital Glasgow, Scotland.
